Fontanilles

Fontanilles comprises the villages of Fontanilles, as the head of the municipality, and Llabià.

The village of Fontanilles is located on the top of two hills. At the northern end is the Romanesque church of San Martín, and at the top of the south side are the ruins of the old medieval castle, popularly known as "el Castellot". Between the two hills, different farmhouses and manor houses are scattered in a disorderly fashion, giving shape to the village.

Baix Empordà

One of the charms of the Baix Empordà is its privileged location between the sea and the mountains.
